About me
Lori Piscatelli Scanlon
I’ve spent my career helping organizations survive and thrive through the tween years. From startups finding their footing to grown-ups rethinking what comes next, she’s has built, launched, operated, measured and learned her way through a lot of change.
I love what I do and bring that enthusiasm, experience and “YouCentric” lens to help businesses figure out who they are, how they reach and engage the people they serve, and align inside the business to make that experience real.

My work has always crossed the lines between brand, marketing, go-to-market, customer experience and operations.
At PatientsLikeMe, I built and led a 20-person marketing team and helped shape the positioning and patient engagement approach behind a platform that grew to hundreds of thousands of members.
At Candescent Health, I helped take a new healthcare technology to market, then expanded my role into customer experience and voice-of-customer work.
At Onduo (a Sanofi-Verily joint venture), I built the marketing organization from the ground up and designed the B2B2C enrollment and engagement engine, including behavior-based journeys, partner engagement, marketing operations, technology and go-to-market strategy during a major ownership transition.
In more recent years, I’ve brought my hard-earned learnings and experience to dozens of startups and grown-ups navigating transitions of their own. Through my YouCentric Consulting work, I have been fortunate to partner alongside leadership teams rethinking brand identity and go-to-market strategy, and helped their teams build enrollment and engagement programs, launch new offerings, define and evolve customer experiences, hire and train teams, and put better systems and workflows in place. I’ve been welcomed as core teammate in helping these organizations figure out what needs to change as the business grows up.
That work has reinforced something I’ve believed for a long time: companies aren't just in the business of building products or delivering services. They're building experiences. And the best ones start by looking at the business through someone else's eyes, then make sure the strategy, operations and experience underneath it can deliver. YouCentric (and my collective network that comes in sometimes to execute) exists to bring that same conviction and serious execution muscle to growth-stage companies ready to align what they believe, how they operate, and how they grow.

I’m the mother of an amazing young adult exploring her love of art, psychology and education at college
I’ve lived in Boston my whole life and don’t plan to move anytime soon. (But I also can’t stand the cold.)
I have a BA from Boston College (go Eagles!) and an MBA from Suffolk University (completed partially via their first eMBA program offered in early 2000s).
I never wanted a dog, but now my mini labradoodle is my world. She is pure love…and gives high-fives and hugs so she’s cool.
Like Shrek, I have many many layers. Peel back the onion and I’ll share. But be prepared because I’m an open book.
I read about behavior psych for fun. I could engage in conversations about identity and emotional motivators for days.
I consider myself a writer (on the side for now). Poetry and personal non-fiction are my favorite forms.
I am an athlete turned coach later in life. It informs how I show up, work with others, and communicate. (And I really miss coaching my daughter’s teams helping young people learn these same skills is another passion of mine).
I love to make (and hear) people laugh.
As I’ve grown older, I find myself chasing the kind of ocean air that makes everything feel possible.
I’m a deeply knowledgable and passionate patient advocate - in my work and my personal life.
The Collective
I’ve been fortunate to work with some of the most amazing strategists, builders and executers in the business. Many of us still work together in some capacity. If your project needs a small cross-functional team, I send up the “YouCentric signal” to call together the right team.

My colleagues have spent decades building the experiences, programs, teams and operations that help companies serve people well as they grow. They’ve operated inside complex businesses at moments when the way they worked needed to change.
Their areas of expertise:
Member Experience, Customer Support, Community Management, Patient Advocacy/Networking, Enrollment/Engagement Design and Implementation, Marketing and People Operations , Program/Project Management, Business Analytics, Demand Planning and Generation, B2B2C Program Design and Execution, Business Performance, Product/UX
Some have served as core participants behind product launches, decommissions, company-wide goal setting, organizational transformation/change management and executive operations. Others have been instrumental in the building of the systems, cross-functional workflows, databases and planning practices; leading commercial demand planning; designing new operating model across divisions, channels and markets while defining roles, responsibilities and business processes; spearheading B2B2C marketing and enterprise demand marketing and business performance.
Their career areas:
Careers have spanned healthcare, merchandising, wholesale and tech companies.
Collective members are also experienced in highly regulated, accelerated growth environments.
Where they’ve worked (to name a few):
PatientsLikeMe, Cylinder, Woebot, EHIR/HGAN, Target, DKNY, Levi Strauss, Gap, WeightWatchers
Case Study:
This company had a promising model of care and within the first year had a couple of health plan and employer partners. The plan was to quadruple partners in 12-months, and build an enrollment engine that could improve their initial enrollment rate. The main challenge: the business needed to mature quickly to keep up with the work that needed to get done, while keeping their users’ experience as the North Star to their growth efforts.

It took a lot to learn, and I'd rather it help you (and others) than sit behind a form.
